Lawn Check Diagnostic Services
Arapahoe County Extension’s professional horticulture agent provides on-site LawnCheck consultations for a small fee to help with identifying and solving insect, disease and other lawn problems.
Lawn diagnosis is better done and more accurate when examining the total situation, including irrigation coverage, during a site visit, rather than looking at small lawn samples brought in to CSU Extension office. A site visit can help diagnose the root problem and provide safe and effective recommendations for:
- Thinning lawns
- Dying lawns
- Failing newly seeded or sodded lawns
- Older problem lawns
- Weedy lawns
- Lawns with brown spots
How it Works:
Please call 303-730-1920, email or complete this form to schedule a CSU Lawncheck site visit with Horticulture Agent Robert Cox. As an educational organization, Extension staff provides unbiased, reliable advice and will not use site visits to promote specific lawn care products or services.
When to Schedule:
Lawn problems are best diagnosed as they develop and display active symptoms. Problems that are weeks or months old, unless they recur, are difficult to diagnose.
The cost of a site visit is $50 for up to one hour on-site, with verbal recommendations provided. The cost for a follow-up written report is $25 and the report will arrive within 7-10 business days after the site visit. Checks may be payable to Arapahoe County Extension at time of site visit. Laboratory analysis, if desired, can be done through the CSU Soil, Water and Plant Testing Lab for an additional charge.
No-one shall be denied the opportunity to participate or receive information based on their ability to pay. Fees are subject to change.
