4-H Scholarships

Dozens of college scholarships are available to local 4-H youth, with many application deadlines falling between January 2011 and May 2010.


National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) Scholarship Program

The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) conducts a scholarship program to assist young adults in agriculture.  This program is the Lois Britt Memorial Scholarship Program sponsored by CME Group.

Five $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to students who intend to pursue a career in the pork industry.  The scholarships are focused at undergraduate students in a two-year swine program or a four-year college of agriculture.

Arapahoe County 4-H Foundation Scholarship
Application Deadline: February each year
The Foundation offers $1,500 and $2,500 scholarships for outstanding graduating high school seniors enrolled in Arapahoe County 4-H.


Colorado 4-H Collegiate Scholars Program
Application Deadline: November each year
4-H Scholars promote the positive experiences they had in 4-H and spend up to 20 hours a month representing 4-H at key activities, speaking at public events, and meeting with stakeholders and donors. For their efforts, each Scholar receives training, public relations support materials, reimbursement for expenses, and a $1,500 annual stipend toward college expenses.


Colorado 4-H Foundation Scholarships
Application Deadline: April 1 each year

  • 1st Choice After School Kare 4-H Youth Scholarship
    A $1000 scholarship is awarded to a college bound outstanding 4-H high school senior each year.
  • Colorado Agricultural Development Authority 4-H Youth Scholarship
    Five $1000 scholarships are awarded to entering college freshman enrolling in an agriculture related program. The schoarlship may be used to attend any Colorado college or university with an accredited agriculture program.
  • Bill & Barbara Holthaus 4-H Youth Scholarship
    Three $1000 scholarships are awarded each year to outstanding 4-H members.
  • Kimberling Family 4-H Youth Scholarship
    A $500 scholarship is awarded to a 4-H youth that has exhibited food animal projects at the Colorado State Fair and is enrolling in a pre-vet program at Colorado State University.
  • Murdoch’s Ranch & Home Supply 4-H Youth Scholarship
    A $1000 scholarship is awarded to a college bound outstanding 4-H high school senior each year.
  • Portouw Photography 4-H Youth Scholarship
    A $300 scholarship is awarded to a student that has completed at least three years in 4-H photography and has entered their photography in the Colorado State Fair for at least two years.
  • Audrey Sandstead 4-H Youth Scholarship
    A $400 scholarship is awarded to a student enrolling in their first year in the College of Applied Human Sciences.
  • Howard E. & Marjory M. Smith 4-H Youth Scholarship
    A $1000 scholarship is awarded to a college bound outstanding 4-H high school senior each year.
